Public Installation at Percival Landing Park, Olympia, Washington
June 26, 2026 -- June 25, 2027

About this sculpture:

The title of this sculpture, Love, Peace, Just.ICE plays on the tension between “justice” and “just ICE,” inviting reflection on the gap between our ideals and the lived realities of many. From one angle, the work speaks to universal aspirations—love, peace, justice. From another, it highlights how these ideals, especially justice, can be fractured. As light and weather shift along the waterfront, the sculpture’s surfaces and shadows generate new compositions, reinforcing its themes of perspective and complexity. Hopefully, Love, Peace, Just.ICE offers a space for reflection, dialogue, and connection — rooted in craft, community, and the shared work of imagining a more just world

About my practice:

I see public art as a place where structure, story, and community meet. A public sculpture should encourage viewers to slow down, look closely, and encounter meaning without instruction. Towards this end, I developed Ori-hagane, a non-welded sculptural system that transforms flat stainless-steel sheets into interlocking three-dimensional structures through precision cut geometries. The interdependent structure—where stability emerges through the relationship between parts—offers a quiet parallel to shared civic space, where meaning develops through collective presence.
